On the last day of Half Term, an old rivalry returned to the Paddock - the annual charity cricket match, 1st XI team vs their dads!
Last year, the boys sailed to a comfortable win, so the pressure was on this year for the dads to show who was boss! A confident team of Sixth Formers arrived at the Paddock, ready to repeat last year's efforts. Little did they know that their dads seemed to have been in training?! Batting first, the boys put a good score on the board and hit some impressive boundaries, but it was when the dads took to the field that the battle really began. It was looking good for the school team, and the dads were down to their last man. Then out came John Molloy, who came out with a runner, but found he didn't need him: hitting boundary after boundary, he soon took the dads over the line to victory!
Thanks to all who got involved, helped organise the event, brought in raffle prizes and came to watch. The money raised will go to our Senior School charity for the year, Cobbes Meadow Riding School for the Disabled.
