When a plan comes together…

“A  fabulous day and alumni race - significant progress relative to last year! The future looks bright!” [The post-race words of competitor, Chris Smith.]

The first cross-country race of the season coincided with dramatic autumn rains, which softened the firm, summer-baked ground and then the clouds parted, and the sun shone on today’s runners.

OR’s XC team’s aim was to improve on last year’s individual performances and we were successful in reaching the start line, fit and well.  

The highlights: 

Chris Smith

3 minutes and 43 seconds faster than in 2024.

Improved by 2 places to be top ten in age group.  (10th in age group - 12th in 2024)

Simon Adams

1 minute and 49 seconds faster than 2024 

Improved by 1 place to be 2nd in age group (3rd in 2024)
