Friday, 17th June was a special day. King's School Rochester inaugurated the Preparatory School Playground Re-Development Phase I and dedicated the area to the memory of Liz Lyon, O.R.

Liz Lyon was a delightful person, loved by her friends, family and staff of the school. Liz was a loyal supporter of King’s School Rochester and the Old Roffensian Society and unfortunately passed away in 2019.

The sunny afternoon started with beautiful words from our Principal, Ben Charles, and Deputy Headmaster of Preparatory School, Paul Medhurst.

The Family Lyon was also there to dedicate the area to the memory of Liz.

Thanks to the Old Roffensian Society who supported this project financially with the costs of the decking and house garden beds, as well as supplying tables, planters and branded umbrellas. These were funded to provide for the Preparatory School and raise the profile of the ORS on this side of the Paddock.

Old Roffensians who attended this event were wearing their OR ties and scarves, Liz played a significant role in the design of the scarves and will always be remembered.
