An opportunity has arisen to join the Governing Body at King's School, Rochester. Governors are responsible for the strategic direction and vision of the school and overseeing financial performance. King's School Governors are also Directors and Trustees of the School with legal responsibilities.
King's is a co-educational, independent school with 680 pupils between the ages of 3 – 18, including 50 boarders. It is formed of a Nursery/Pre-Preparatory School, a Preparatory School and a Senior School. The School has a long and impressive heritage, having been founded in 604 AD and has strong links with Rochester Cathedral. The Bishop is the Patron and the Dean and Chapter form part of the Governing Body.
We are seeking dynamic and motivated individuals to expand the competencies of the existing Governing Body. We are seeking applications from high-calibre professionals from all backgrounds, but particularly welcome applicants with strong strategic experience in financial services, insurance, legal, property/operations management, architecture and engineering.
The role is non-remunerated, but expenses will be paid. The role will require a commitment of around ten days a year which will include attending Governors Meetings, serving on one of the Committees and attending training and development opportunities. There will also be an opportunity to be an active member of the King's community and attend school events throughout the year.
